Anomalous Left Coronary Artery Arising
نویسنده
چکیده
ANGIOCARDIOGRAPHY has recently led to the recognition of the anomalous left coronary artery arising from the pulmonary artery in older children and adolescents. Three 16-year old patients are the oldest ones in whom the diagnosis has been made during life.'In all of the 14 cases4-6 reported from the adult age group (18 years or more) the diagnosis was made at autopsy. We are reporting here a minimally symptomatic 29-year-old woman with the diagnosis of anomalous left coronary artery established by cineangiocardiography with the electrocardiographic pattern of anterolateral myocardial infarction.

Different Presentation of Anomalous Origin of the Left Coronary Artery from the Pulmonary Artery in Adults: Case Reports
Anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) is a rare congenital cardiac malformation. We report three cases of ALCAPA who survived to adulthood. The first case was a 51-year-old woman who complained of typical chest pain that was diagnosed with ALCAPA using cardiac catheterization and coronary computed tomographic angiography (CTA). The second case was a 30-...
متن کاملAnomalous left coronary artery arising from the right pulmonary artery.
In this study, we describe a very rare case of anomalous left coronary artery arising from the right pulmonary artery in association with coarctation of the aorta. A 3-month-old boy presented with refractory congestive heart failure since 20 days after birth. The initial echocardiography suggested the diagnosis of left coronary artery-to-right pulmonary artery fistula associated with coarctatio...
متن کاملThe Anomalous Origin of the Left Coronary Artery from the Pulmonary Artery (ALCAPA): a Case Series and Brief Review
Background Anomalous left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) is a rare congenital cardiovascular defect that occurs in approximately 1/300 000 live births or 0.5% of children with congenital heart disease. There are two types of ALCAPA syndrome: the infant type and the adult type. The most infants experience myocardial infarction and congestive heart failure, and approximately 9...
متن کاملSuccessful percutaneous coronary intervention with stent implantation in anomalous right coronary arteries arising from the left sinus of valsalva: a report of two cases.
Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in an anomalous right coronary artery arising from the left sinus of valsalva can be technically challenging because of difficulty in selectively cannulating the vessel. We present two cases of successful stent implantation in an anomalous right coronary artery arising from the left sinus of valsalva. In both cases, we used an oversized 6 Fr Judkins left...
متن کاملA Novel Technique for Percutaneous Coronary Intervention for Anomalous Right Coronary Artery Arising from the Left Sinus of Valsalva.
BACKGROUND Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for anomalous right coronary artery (RCA) arising from the left sinus of Valsalva (LSOV) is a technical challenge due to inadequate guiding catheter support to overcome the acute rightward course of the anomalous RCA. In this study we describe a novel technique for PCI for an anomalous RCA arising from the LSOV. METHODS Six patient cases wit...
متن کاملCongenital Absence of Left Circumflex Coronary Artery
Congenital absence of left circumflex artery is a rare congenital anomaly of the coronary arteries. The prevalence of the anomaly in different studies ranges from 0.6% to 1.3%. Of these, 80% are benign and asymptomatic and 20% are clinically important. We report a 56-year-old man presented with acute resting chest pain who was diagnosed as having acute anterolateral infarction accompanied by el...
